Washington is a state in the Pacific Northwest region of the United States, often called Washington State to distinguish it from the nation’s capital, Washington, D.C. It is bordered by the Pacific Ocean to the west, and Canada to the north. The city of Seattle is the largest and most populous city in Washington State.
