Nebraska

Nebraska is one of the 12 Midwestern states in the United States. All rivers in Nebraska empty into the Missouri River.

  • Capital – Lincoln
  • Admitted to the Union – March 1, 1867 (37th State)

We drove the entire length of this state in 2020 when we drove to Portland from Pittsburgh. Large areas of Nebraska are sparsely populated and heavily forested. Nebraska is a largely agricultural state with its dominant source of income coming from farms. We did see large areas of farmland as we drove across the state. We visited the following places over 2 days.

  • Omaha
  • Lincoln
  • Kearny, Carhenge, Chimney Rock
