Paso Robles is a city in California, known for its wineries, olive, and pistachio groves. It is 158 miles south of San Jose (3 hour drive). We visited this place the first time with family, in December of 2020 and stayed in a vineyard for a month. Since it was during Covid time, we had the entire vineyard to ourselves. The huge field in front of the mansion had grape vines and pistachio groves.
Morro Bay – Morro Bay is a coastal city in California and about 30 miles west of Paso Robles. It’s known for Morro Rock, an ancient volcanic mound that sits within Morro Bay State Park, home to many hiking trails. We half a day here hiking the trails and enjoying the beach.
We visited Paso Robles again in May 2024 with family and friends. We rented a beautiful 3-bedroom Airbnb a few miles from Paso Robles downtown. The town square in Paso Robles is centered around the Downtown City Park, a central green space with picnic tables and benches. There were a lot of tents around the park selling various things from olive oil, clothes, to jewelry. We first had lunch at a restaurant, after which, we walked around the park looking for a good bargain. We ended up buying some olive oil and cookies.
Our Airbnb in Paso Robles was located opposite a park with a gazebo. It is a lovely place to take a stroll.
