Brazil

Visited in 2026

Brazil, officially the Federative Republic of Brazil, is the largest country in South America, with Brasília as its capital, São Paulo its largest city, Portuguese its official language, and much of its northern region covered by the Amazon rainforest. Originally inhabited by Indigenous peoples, Brazil was colonized by Portugal in 1500, gained independence in 1822, abolished slavery in 1888, and became a republic in 1889. Its current democratic constitution was adopted in 1988.

We spent 10 days exploring some of Brazil’s most fascinating destinations, from the natural wonder of Iguazú Falls to the vibrant cities of Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo and the incredible Amazon region around Manaus.
