Jersey Shores

The Jersey Shore, commonly called “the Shore” by locals, is the coastal region of the state of New Jersey. The term encompasses about 141 miles of oceanfront bordering the Atlantic Ocean, from Perth Amboy in the north to Cape May Point in the south. The Jersey Shore hosts the highest concentration of boardwalks in United States.

Atlantic City – We visited this part of Jersey Shores on a day trip from Philadelphia. Atlantic City is a nationally renowned resort city for gambling, shopping and fine dining. The Atlantic City Boardwalk is the world’s oldest boardwalk, that opened in 1870. At 5.5miles long, it is also the world’s longest and busiest boardwalk.

As you take a walk along the boardwalk, you will reach the Steel Pier which is 1,000-foot-long, originally opened in 1898 and quickly became known for showcasing the world’s top entertainers. Today, the Steel Pier has an amusement park that features rides for kids of all ages. There is also a Ferris wheel at the pier which can be seen from anywhere on the boardwalk.
