Although Bozeman is famously known as the gateway to Yellowstone National Park, we flew into Bozeman to visit Glacier National Park. To drive from Bozeman to the St. Mary Entrance (the east entrance) of Glacier National Park, you’ll travel north for about 300 miles and takes about 4 hours. After visiting Glacier National Park, we drove back to Bozeman and stayed overnight here. We spent an afternoon walking around the charming downtown Bozeman.

Downtown Bozeman – is a breathe of fresh mountain air with art galleries, an array of casual and fine dining restaurants, unique retail shops, sporting goods for all your outdoor adventures and more.

You will also notice that all the traffic boxes along main street are all attractively painted. This was part of a public art project designed to beautify the city and reduce graffiti. We checked out about 6-7 of these on the main street.

Museum of the Rockies – affiliated with Montana State University and Smithsonian Institution, the museum is largely known for its Paleontological collections as well as having the largest collection of North American Dinosaur fossils in the United States.
