Delaware State Capitol Building – The Delaware Legislative Hall is the State Capitol Building of Delaware. Built between 1931–1933, it was extended in 1965–1970 and 1994. We visited this building in October of 2021 when COVID restrictions was still in place. There was no guided tours available and we did not have to go through any kind of security to get into the building. The building was wide open for anyone to walk in and do a self guided tour and it is a really small building, compared to the other capitol buildings we visited.

Delaware State Capitol Building, House and Senate – When you walk into the building the House chamber is on one side and the Senate chamber is on the other side. There was only one person working in the building and she was quite helpful. She allowed me and my husband to act like the speaker of the House and chief admin officer and took a picture of us.

This historic building is located on The Green in Dover. Today, the Old State House has been meticulously restored to its 18th-century appearance and functions as a museum, offering visitors a glimpse into the state’s past.

House of Coffi – This coffee spot, housed in a historic building in downtown Dover will brew your order to perfection. We had coffee and a muffin and it was delicious. The place is in a nice location with outdoor seating and the staff was friendly and efficient.

Other sights around Downtown Dover – We walked around the small and charming downtown area. We walked past the City Hall and then the Delaware Public Archive building. The Archive building houses Delaware’s most prized documents, photographs of Delaware in the past, and historic audio clips. The bell outside the Delaware Public Archive building is from USS Delaware Submarine. The submarine was built for the US Navy.
