Andhra Pradesh (and Telangana), is located in the southeastern corner of India, with the Indian Ocean to its east and the state of Tamil Nadu to its south. It is the “Rice Bowl” of India, due to its fertile Krishna and Godavari river basins where high yielding rice crops flourish. Andhra Pradesh is home to one of the most famous and most visited temple in India – Tirupati Balaji Temple, also known as the Venkateshwara Temple, this temple is located in Tirumala.
The State of Andhra Pradesh split into 2 states in 2014 – Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. Before I moved to United States in 1992, I lived and grew up in Hyderabad which was the capital of Andhra Pradesh.
