Food in Ecuador

Although Ecuadoreans eat a fair amount of meat and poultry, we were able to find restaurants that offered at least a couple of vegetarian options in their menu. Lentil soup and potato soups were available in most restaurants. Plantain fries were part of every meal. We had one of the best/tastiest vegetarian meal in Cuenca at Tiesto’s. I even took a picture with the Chef who cooked this tasty meal for us.

We also found a few restaurants that served vegetarian pasta dishes. Banos had a really good Mexican restaurant. Ecuador had a wide verity of fruits which was served in all restaurants for breakfast.
