One of the very best weekend trips one can take in Minnesota is the North Shore scenic drive starting in Duluth. Running a total of 154 miles between Duluth and the Canadian border, the scenic Highway 61 weaves along the Great Lake Superior shoreline, with many attractions on the way. You get to see pine forests, lighthouses, rocky cliffs, waterfalls and of course the shores of the world’s largest fresh water lake. We did this entire stretch over a weekend. One can spend an entire week in this area, spending more time at each attraction.
